By the end of 2023, Stockmeyer will take various structural measures within the existing production facility, install new machine technology and modernize the technical building equipment. The aim of the measures is to reduce the internal logistics effort, i.e. the route of the goods within production, and to structure the process flow in a more straightforward manner. As part of this, an extension of around 2,400 square meters is being built, for which the ground-breaking ceremony took place on Tuesday in the presence of Mayor Josef Uphoff. The modernization will primarily benefit the cooked sausage, scalded sausage and cooked cured products divisions. "With this investment, we are making Stockmeyer fit for the next generation. It is also our clear commitment to the Sassenberg site," said Managing Director Guido Vienenkötter at the ground-breaking ceremony. Sassenberg's mayor Josef Uphoff is also delighted with the good news: "The intensive cooperation with the Stockmeyer company is a stroke of luck for the town of Sassenberg. The current investment offensive strengthens the local economy and secures jobs close to home."
For over 100 years, Stockmeyer has stood for traditional Westphalian butchery and the utmost care in the production of sausage specialties. The company is part of heristo aktiengesellschaft (Bad Rothenfelde), a family-run and internationally active group of companies that is one of the top-selling companies in the German food industry, one of the largest European manufacturers of pet food and a global trading company. heristo operates production sites in Germany, neighboring European countries and the USA. Stockmeyer employs around 950 people at the Sassenberg/Füchtorf site.
