Stockmeyer: Fit for the future

Westfälische Fleischwarenfabrik Stockmeyer opens an extension of over 2,400 square meters with a ceremony. The new production facility optimizes the manufacturing processes on various levels and is an important step in the implementation of the company's modernization strategy. At the same time, Stockmeyer is sending out a clear signal for the Sassenberg/Füchtorf location with this investment.

As a family business, Stockmeyer does not think in quarters or years, but in generations. This is why the future plans of the manufacturer of high-quality sausage and ham products, which is part of the heristo Group, bear the programmatic title "Generation Strategy". The aim is to secure and further expand its leading role as a trading partner through long-term investment. An important milestone in this strategy was reached on 22.08.2023 with the construction of a new production building after a two-year construction period.

In future, Stockmeyer will optimize important processes with state-of-the-art machine technology in the 2,400 square metre new building. The aim is to avoid unnecessary transportation costs and further develop hygienic processes. "Clear, short routes within the manufacturing process are extremely important for the production process," explains Managing Director Guido Vienenkötter. "This allows us to reduce unit costs, lower resource consumption and secure jobs at the Sassenberg site in the long term." However, the new building does not mark the end of Stock-meyer's generational strategy. On the contrary, further measures, in particular for more energy-efficient production and the careful use of water, electricity and heat resources, are already planned and will be consistently implemented in the coming years. In view of this development, Sassenberg's mayor Josef Uphoff is full of praise for the manufacturer: "It is important that we secure jobs and at the same time face up to the relevant challenges, especially in this day and age. And that means, above all, using our natural resources responsibly. I think that Stockmeyer is doing exemplary work here with the generation project and making an important contribution to the success of Sassenberg as a business location."
About the company Stockmeyer has stood for traditional Westphalian butchery and the utmost care in the production of sausage specialties for over 100 years. The company is part of heristo aktiengesellschaft (Bad Rothenfelde), a family-run and internationally active group of companies that is one of the top-selling companies in the German food industry, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of pet food and a globally active trading company. Stockmeyer employs around 950 people at its Sassenberg/Füchtorf site.
