PACKAGING
Packaging is an important part of our products as it ensures safety and shelf life. The following applies: as much as necessary, as little as possible. heristo aktiengesellschaft's goal is for at least 50% of our packaging to be recyclable by 2025. By 2030, this statement will apply to all packaging produced by the heristo divisional companies.
RAW MATERIAL LOSSES
Our planet has limited resources. Our aim is to generate as little waste as possible in our production. This applies to raw materials as well as to finished food, packaging and operating materials. We use analyses to identify avoidable losses and reduce them permanently.
Forms of husbandry
Whether organic, regional or vegan - we want to continue to offer all our customers a wide range of products in the future. Our standards are rising, especially when it comes to animal welfare. We are constantly expanding our range - towards more regionality, higher husbandry levels and alternative proteins for flexitarians and vegans.
HEALTHY NUTRITION
We have a lot to offer for people and animals. We are committed to placing healthy products on the market. Be it by reducing salt, sugar and fat or by pushing for more vegetables and alternative proteins - such as insects as dog food. This is where we rely on our creative product development.
BIODIVERSITY
A functioning environment is based on diverse ecosystems and a high level of biodiversity. Human intervention changes the living conditions of numerous animals and plants. Our goals: Purchasing certified raw materials, deforestation-free supply chains and reforestation projects.
ATTRACTIVE EMPLOYER
One group - countless career prospects. Our employer brand heristogether makes us attractive to applicants, existing employees and customers. Our aim is to create attractive working conditions and retain employees in the long term.
DELIVERY CHAINS
heristo aktiengesellschaft is committed to respecting human rights by implementing clearly defined due diligence obligations. We implement solutions to safeguard human rights in supply chains - for example through social audits or sustainability assessments at our sites. We will report publicly on this from 2025.
COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING
We are anchoring the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in our corporate activities. This means that from 2026, we will publicly document the impact of sustainability aspects and summarize them in a report.
